This workshop on the Racial Wealth Gap combines history, individual reflection and group discussion to provide participants with a foundation of the origins of America’s income and racial wealth gap. Participants engage with historical documents to dispel the popular ‘bootstrap’ narrative and dig deeper into the institutional and political realities of racism that has allowed for the continuous divestment in Black & Indigenous communities.

Through shared stories and reviewing basic concepts, workshop participants engaged in conversations and activities around credit, optimizing spending, debt and savings strategies.
